Andrea Wawrzynek and Dean Sarapa attended Internet Security course organized by the Emphasys Centre in Nicosia, Cyprus, from March 3rd until March 10th, 2019.
We learned the basics about Internet Security, the dangers which can be faced online, how to prevent unauthorized access of data and how to protect online identity. We also learned how to remove completely files from computer and Internet history. We created strong passwords on accounts, learned to insert a password to protect Microsoft Office files (e.g. Word), typed specific commands on Command Prompt, learned how to recognize phishing emails. We discussed about GDPR and about the role of data protection officer. We exchanged best practices about installing and updating antiviruses and securing devices from all types of malware. Finally, we improved our language and social skills through speaking and sharing experiences with other participants and made contacts with individuals and organizations working in the education field in Europe.
